10 Yard Dumpster
If you are working on a project that is not big, but there is too much junk to leave on the curb or the debris is heavy, a 10 yard dumpster might be best. The typical measurement of this size of dumpster is 3.5 feet high, 7.5 feet wide and 11 feet long. Smaller dumpsters can hold up to 10 cubic yards of junk or trash in volume. These dimensions equate to about 50-60 13-gallon trash bags or two to three pickup loads.
The price of this size dumpster can vary. There are many factors that are considered, such as what type of junk you are putting in your dumpster, the taxes, pickup, and delivery charges plus the weight. Heavy items like brick and concrete will typically cost you more than sheetrock or carpet and pad. If you need different shapes of 10 yard containers, they come in roll off dumpsters; lowboys with walls shorter than normal, commercial front-load dumpsters or trailer dumpsters. Rubber-wheeled trailer dumpsters and roll-off containers are the most used 10 yard containers. The type of 10 yard container you rent depends on the type of waste or junk you are throwing away. Rent a lowboy for heavy dirt or roofing shingles or use a dumpster with tall sides for disposing of items like sofas, chairs, and large appliances. Loading a 10 yard dumpster over the rim or exceeding the weight can cost additional fees. Overage fees can add up quickly, especially if your waste is heavy and dense. As an example, five squares of roof shingles can weigh up to 2 tons. If you had a 20 square foot roof, you would have about eight tons of debris. Your typical 10 yard container comes with two tons of included weight. Going more than 6 tons over that eight could cost hundreds of dollars in additional fees. Avoid mistakes by following recommendations and guidelines in respect to what type of debris you are disposing of: • Keep the dumpster tarped during rainy and snowy weather. Wet debris is heavier than dry debris, and if your waste gets wet, you could incur extra fees. • Don't fill the dumpster too high. The load should be below the rim of the container so it can be easily tarped for transport. When you are looking for dumpsters, we are your number one choice.
